Our Lobbyist

Gayle Berry
Legislative Lobbyist

Before becoming a lobbyist, Gayle Berry served in the Colorado legislature. During her eight year tenure she was a member of the powerful Joint Budget Committee, the House Appropriations Committee, and was chair of the House Transportation Committee. Gayle received more than thirty awards for her work as a legislator. She has been named to three state-wide commissions by three governors, both as a legislator and a lobbyist. Prior to entering the legislature Gayle operated her own business. She understands the critical balance between a healthy, profitable business environment, and an effective, responsible, state government.  Until term-limited in 2004 she represented House District 55 in Grand Junction Colorado.

As a member of LeadingAge Colorado, I was invited to serve on the HCPF Alternative Care Facility (ACF) Task Force. This has provided me an opportunity to discuss Assisted Living specific items and share best practices with HCPF, CDPHE and ALR/ACF providers throughout the state. As the Director of an Assisted Living Residence, I am truly grateful for opportunities that allow me to have an impact on our field, and it was my membership with LeadingAge Colorado that provided me this opportunity.
