Keep Your Senior Care Licensing Up to Date

Just like in other public health fields, it’s imperative to keep your assisted living administrator licensing current and updated. It’s a fundamental part of ensuring that the public receives proper care!

Plus, keeping your senior care licensing up-to-date will make sure that that you are well informed of the most current business operations, laws and regulations, ethical practices, and more, which helps residents receive the highest level of care possible.

In fact, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment requires assisted living administrators to complete a state-certified Living Administrator Training Program. In addition, it is recommended that owners, administrator designees, CEO’s, COO’s, resident services directors, nurses, social workers, and marketing/admissions staff to complete the course, as well.

What are the qualifications?

  • Complete 40-hour course assisted living administrators course
  • Be over 21 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and have at least one year of experience supervising the delivery of personal care services that include activities of daily living
  • If the administrator does not have the required one year of experience supervising the delivery of personal care services including activities of daily living, the individual must demonstrate that he or she meets one or more of the qualifications listed here.

How do I take the course?

While there are several different offerings that you could take up, we strongly recommend taking the LeadingAge 40-Hour Online Assisted Living Training program. This comprehensive, state-certified program is easy to sign up for and can be completed in the comfort of your home. Visit this page to sign up now.
