Leases, Addendums, Modifications, and Attachments

This course is designed to help you understand lease types, content and regulations by program type. It also serves to walk through the proper process on how to modify sections of lease for different circumstances, and identify different types of lease addendums and attachments that are both required and optional as well as method of implementation.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify lease type and required content by program requirement
• Learn the difference between an addendum and an attachment, which ones are required, and how to implement each
• Learn how to properly modify sections of the lease when different things happen
• How to properly implement lease and other information related to live-in aides
• Identify and correct common lease issues

Target Audience: 

Staff who are responsible for lease implementation and enforcement. Staff who review files for compliance.

Rhanda McKown - Director of Affordable Housing - LeadingAge Florida

Rhanda joins LeadingAge Florida from the North Tampa Housing Development Corporation where she served as a Local Contract Specialist. Rhanda has nearly 20 years of experience in various aspects of the housing industry and spent the last 15 years conducting Management and Occupancy Reviews (MOR) under the Performance Based Contract Administration (PBCA) contract in Florida.

Rhanda's prior housing industry experience includes having served as Director of the Affordable Housing Study Commission (AHSC), a group appointed by Florida’s Governor to research a variety of timely housing topics and propose recommendations for implementation each year in a comprehensive annual report, as well as previously working at LeadingAge Florida which is where she originally began her housing career.

Rhanda graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University and lives in Ocala with her 10-year-old daughter.
