Understanding the Types of Care
A brief description of each filter option to help you navigate your search:
- Assisted Living: Residential communities that provide help with daily activities such as meals, bathing, dressing, and medication management.
- Independent Living / Housing: For active older adults who want a maintenance-free lifestyle with community amenities and social opportunities.
- Skilled Nursing Facility: 24-hour medical care and rehabilitation services, often following a hospital stay or for those with complex medical needs.
- Memory Care: Specialized support for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.
- PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly): Coordinated medical and social services for eligible individuals, with the goal of allowing older adults to remain in their community.
- Home and Community Based Services: Care and support services delivered in a person's own home or community setting.
- Medicaid: Communities that accept Medicaid as a payment source. Contact individual communities directly to confirm eligibility and availability.
